With only three days left in the transfer window, Newcastle will be frantically searching for a few more recruits.

The Magpies have had a frustrating summer so far and as of yet have only brought in five new players.

Such has been the club’s lack of transfer activity, Rafa Benitez admitted that he was concerned with the club’s transfer business and issued a warning that the club has to bring some more players to improve the squad.

So far, Newcastle have spent £16 million on five new signings, one which of whom was a loan and another on a free transfer.

Following the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Newcastle did bring in Yoshinori Muto, and have now finally signed Salomon Rondon from West Brom.

But, according to Spanish media outlet BLes Noticas, Newcastle are also interested in Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose, as are Fulham, who have previously offered £26 million, according to The Daily Mail.

The Breakdown

Valued at £22.5 million by Transfermarkt, Willian Jose has scored 34 goals for Sociedad in 74 games in all competitions, including 15 in La Liga last time round for the Spanish outfit.

The Brazilian forward would be a superb addition to Newcastle, and is a much better goal-scorer than Rondon.

Although they recently signed Muto, having Willian Jose in the side would give the Magpies a top striker who could possibly provide the club with a potential 20-goal a season forward - it would represent a superb piece of business by the North East giants.

And while a move may seem unlikely now following the arrival of Rondon, Newcastle must seek to lure the striker away from Sociedad, as the 15-goal La Liga ace would be a superb addition to the Premier League, and would certainly help the Magpies in their quest to better last season's tenth place finish in the top-flight.
