Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted that their side appears to have done enough to retain their Premier League survival and will be delighted after a message from one of their players.
The Magpies look to have sealed their place in the top-flight with a 2-1 victory against Arsenal at the weekend at St. James’ Park, as they continue their fine form since the turn of 2018. The Toon Army have benefited from a number of signings during the winter transfer window and one of those stars has come out with a positive message to their fans.
Kenedy, who joined on loan from Chelsea, was named the club’s Player of the Month for March for his performances and stated he was happy to be with the Newcastle team.
“Thanks to all the fans who supported me,” he told NUFC TV via the Shields Gazette.
“I’m glad to be player of the month, and I’m very happy to be part of the Newcastle team. Thank you!”
Rafa Benitez’s own future could be up for debate, despite the locals wishing that he will stay, however, the Spaniard will be keen on trying to keep the Brazilian at the club on a permanent deal.
The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be wanting the club to do all they can to keep the 22-year-old beyond the end of the season, however, a number of punters will know it will be difficult to keep him after his recent performances. A big talent, the punters propping up our bar would love to see him stick around for the long-term.
