Newcastle: Fans pile criticism on Steve Bruce after big defeat to Arsenal

Newcastle may have had time off with the winter break but it didn’t pay off as they were blown away by Arsenal in a 4-0 defeat.

The Magpies began the game brightly with Joelinton coming closest to scoring but it was a tale of two halves as the home side turned on the pressure in the second period. The visitors defended deep in their typical style but could do little to stop Arsenal’s quality, with two quick goals knocking the belief out of Steve Bruce’s side.

Arsenal rounded the victory late on with two more quick-fire goals, and many Newcastle fans were naturally left feeling frustrated with what their team showed. Allan Saint-Maximin almost halved the deficit at 2-0 but his strike came off the post, with Ciaran Clark also guilty of missing a brilliant opportunity.

The side currently sits on 31 points but fans are still annoyed with Bruce, mainly for his negative approach to matches and a failure to react when things aren’t going Newcastle’s way.

Here is some of the discussion that has taken place regarding the Magpies’ boss.
