Florian Thauvin was rarely on song for Newcastle during his brief spell there, and it seems his actual musical ability is no better judging by his initiation to the France squad.
Away from St James’ Park on loan at Marseille, the 24-year-old has been so impressive back in Ligue 1 that Les Bleus have called him up for their upcoming clashes with Luxembourg and Spain, his first summoning to the senior side.
As is seemingly the custom in the French set-up, Thauvin was made to sing aloud in front of his team-mates, and it’s fair to say his efforts left a lot to be desired.

Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe and Corentin Tolisso of Lyon also had to belt out a tune, and to be fair to Thauvin, neither impressed!
The Magpies ace may well never be seen on the banks of the River Tyne again, which might be good news for the karaoke bars in the city of Newcastle!
