The summer window is finally hotting up for the Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern, who had to endure a rather dull opening few weeks to it after their promotion from the Championship.
Indeed, with the Magpies reportedly closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mikel Merino, as well as the recent additions of Jacob Murphy and Javier Manquillo, our resident Geordies are pretty happy.
In fact, another of their summer signings has seriously impressed our punters clad in black and white.
With Rafa Benitez taking his side down to Valley Parade for a pre-season friendly against Bradford City – a game in which they strolled to a 4-0 victory – Florian Lejune produced a moment of magic.
The Frenchman was brought to St. James’ Park from Eibar earlier on in the summer and the former Manchester City youngster showed what a class act he is in central defence against the Bantams last night.
How’s your touch, @lejeune_florian?

Intercepting a clearance from the opposition goalkeeper, the 26-year-old cushioned the ball with a velvety touch, before calmly chipping it onwards to a teammate, over the head of a Bradford player.
While it may only be a pre-season, these are certainly promising signs from Lejune.
