The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t expect to see Islam Slimani in a Newcastle shirt anymore after the striker has been charged with violent conduct by the FA. The Algerian striker appeared to kick out at West Brom’s Craig Dawson in the Magpies 1-0 home loss to the Baggies. Slimani had until 6 pm today to appeal the charge and fans can read more on Newcastle’s website.
Islam Slimani has been charged with violent conduct by the FA.

The incident in the West Brom game happened ten minutes from time and was not seen by the referee, although cameras picked it up and it was reviewed by a panel consisting of three referees who unanimously agreed that the incident was worthy of a red card. If Slimani doesn’t appeal or if his appeal is unsuccessful it will mean his time as a Newcastle player is over having made just four appearances, playing 130 minutes and scoring zero goals.
If this is the case, Islam Slimani will be just the latest player to join the list of failed Newcastle loanee strikers. Seydou Doumbia, Luuk De Jong and Facundo Ferreyra and Islam Slimani have made a joint 17 appearances for the St James Park faithful and have not netted a single goal between them. The recent failings of on-loan frontmen at Newcastle is well known by the fans, who are starting to believe that they should just play their hot-headed striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Don’t understand ppl who say Mitro has done well in the championship. Gayle scored 23 goals last year and look at him. It’s a diff level in the Premier League

Apparently Rafa Benitez told Slimani to do it pic.twitter.com/Mv8bEKDkLI
