The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been groaning at this one, as reports from the Sun (via HITC) that the club’s backup option should they fail to sign Andros Townsend is Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah.
Rumours that #nufc's back up target to Andros Townsend is Albert Adomah, albeit not from the most reliable source.

The fans are disgusted with this one and are all in firm agreement that they should be looking into signing much bigger names than Adomah. The Villa man has been at the club since summer 2016 when he swapped Middlesbrough for Birmingham. However, the fans will be praying that he decides to stay in Birmingham and doesn’t make the switch up north to Newcastle.
If the Magpies do opt to sign Adomah, the fans will be begging that it’s not at the expense of Matt Ritchie, who is supposedly set to be sold to find the club’s move for Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend. Truth be told, a lot of the fans would rather keep Ritchie and not make a move for either the Selhurst Park star or Adomah as they all have a deep-rooted love for Ritchie given his superb work-rate and passion for the shirt.

The replies above speak for themselves and the fans would hate to see Adomah signed this summer.
