According to their report, Rafa Benitez has REJECTED a move to Everton, in favour of remaining at St. James’ Park. While his reign in charge of the Toon Army has been littered with suggestions he’s not happy on Tyneside, the 57-year-old is understood to have snubbed one of the first big offers to take him away.
With Mike Ashley having put the club up for sale, the Toffees were reportedly left ‘disappointed’ in their attempts to lure the Liverpool legend back to Merseyside, much to the delight of the drinkers propping up our bar who hail from Tyneside.
If Newcastle are backed properly – with Benitez at the helm – perhaps the club could really go about trying to win a cup at long last. Rafa seems to love it up there, with the huge support of the fans, and the right money could help the Magpies really make a run for one.
