The Newcastle United fans in The Transfer Tavern are gathered around the jukebox selecting some music whilst discussing news concerning one of their players leaving the club.
The Guardian is reporting that Cheik Tiote’s move to Chinese side Shanghai Shenua is in jeopardy due to the players wage demands.
All seemed well with the transfer with both clubs agreeing a fee of £8 million and the player passing a medical it seemed as the move but is seems the players wage demands look set to scupper the move.
It is also reported that the player would prefer a move to the Middle East over China as he believes they will meet his wage demands.
The news will not please Newcastle boss Steve McClaren who was planning on using the £8 million raised from Tiote’s sale towards signing both Saido Berahino and Andros Townsend.
The Newcastle fans in The Transfer Tavern are not best pleased with the news and are as disappointed as Steve McClaren with the news.
Newcastle fans, how big a blow is this! Let us know in the comments below!
