Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing increasingly worried by one news story they’ve been tracking, as they fear losing a valuable asset.
The Sun state Manchester United are yet to open contract negotiations with breakthrough star Marcus Rashford, who has excelled this season but has just 14 months remaining on his deal at Old Trafford.
The 18-year-old forward has shone brightly in a difficult season for the Red Devils, with his highlights including a brace in the 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Premier League and the opening goal in this week’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over West Ham United.
With six goals this season, Rashford has become an instant hit but executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is yet to call the teenager in for new contract discussions.
Sensationally, Rashford is on just £1.5k-a-week with the Red Devils and earns a £5k bonus for every appearance he makes for the first-team. Given the immense wages the rest of the squad are on, some fans in the bar think it’s extremely insulting.
United fans, do you need to get this deal tied down swiftly? Let us know in the comments below!
