Liverpool have been hard at work this summer as Klopp looks to wrestle the title away from Manchester City.

So far the Reds have brought in Alisson, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri, to add to their Champions League Final squad. While those four additions are great signings for the club, Klopp is still in the market for one or two more additions.

Liverpool know they'll need a deep squad capable of competing throughout a long and tough Premier League campaign. With that in mind Gazzetta dello Sport (via RMC Sport) journalist, Francesco Velluzi are reporting that Liverpool are interested in Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The young midfielder has also attracted interest from Roma, Lyon and even Atletico Madrid.

The Breakdown

With Oxlade-Chamberlain coming back from injury, adding some strength in midfield seems a wise move from Liverpool.

The young midfielder played 34 games for Cagliari in Serie A last season and would be a good option for Klopp to have in the middle of the park.

An incredibly talented midfielder, Barella would fit straight into Klopp's high-tempo style of football. Barella has great energy, loves to pass forward but can also travel with the ball at his feet - ideal for Klopp. Furthermore, at 21, the midfielder has plenty still plenty of potential to fulfil.

It may take a fairly large bid to lure the midfielder away from the club but if Liverpool bought him, they would've have some great midfield options for the club to call on.
