Everton failed to get the better of Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday, which has forced Marco Silva’s side to take a backseat in the race for a European place.
The Toffees have struggled to ensure consistency in recent times, so Silva will need to make sure that his side put in a dominant performance against the defending Premier League champions next time out.
Indeed, things will only get harder from here on in as there are a number of big challenges coming their way in the Premier League, with Manchester City possibly adding to the Toffees’ recent woes.
So, with a number of factors possibly contributing towards a difficult month, here is the nightmare February for Everton…
EUROPEAN HOPES START TO VANISH
The Toffees are still in with a chance of securing a place in Europe at this moment in time, but things could change in the blink of an eye as there’s currently a number of teams fighting for seventh position.
One fixture that the Merseyside club will be slightly wary of is their clash with Manchester City, as the Citizens will be extremely determined to chase Liverpool down in the race for the title.
So, Everton’s European dreams may start to vanish, with Watford and Cardiff City also looking to take points off them.
Richarlison has been one of the standout performers for the Toffees since joining for a club-record fee back in the summer transfer window, with 11 goals and two assists to his name.
However, things could soon change if the Brazilian fails to deliver in front of goal as he’s been their main source of goals in the current campaign. And, to make matters worse, the Merseyside club failed to bring in a striker during the January transfer window, so Silva will have to rely on his other attacker to step up.
