Nightmare January: Newcastle United - Newcastle United

Newcastle United have struggled to ensure consistency in recent times as they’ve failed to secure three points in their last four Premier League fixtures.

The Magpies will be desperate to seek improvements under Rafa Benitez during the second half of the season, with the opportunity to climb into the top-half of the table.

However, the month of January could go horribly wrong for the Tyneside club as the current transfer window may disappoint supporters. Indeed, Mike Ashley will play a big part in any potential signings, so he could single-handedly put the club on the wrong path if things don’t work out.

So, here is the nightmare January for Newcastle United…

Miguel Almiron has established himself as one of the hottest topics in world football over the past season or so, with a number of goals and assists to his name.

Indeed, the Magpies are believed to be interested in securing the services of the South American, but it remains to be seen as to whether Mike Ashley will stump up the cash.

The 24-year-old could easily take Newcastle United to the next level and is the type of player that could go on to become a future star in the Premier League, so missing out on him would mean that Ashley disappoints supporters once again and the club go without an attacking midfielder.

Salomon Rondon has proved to be one of the signings of the summer for the Magpies, as their main goalscorer with six goals to his name at this moment in time.

However, he has struggled for support throughout the current campaign, which has meant that the Magpies often fail to secure a positive result if he fails to find the back of the net.

So, the Magpies could find themselves slipping down the table if they don’t manage to find the perfect partner for the South American this month, as goals will be hard to come by if he suffers a dip in form or an injury.
