‘No brainer for me, go and get him’ – Man City fans on Twitter call for January signing after Jesus injury blow

The Manchester City fans are hoping to make a hugely valuable addition to their first-team squad during the January transfer window.

Manchester City’s unbeaten record in the Premier League was dangerously close to coming to a dramatic end at Selhurst Park on New Year’s Eve, but Ederson’s heroic penalty save in injury time ensured that City’s hopes of finishing the season unbeaten remain in tact. Pep Guardiola’s side will begin 2018 with their sights set on winning the maximum available 4 trophies this season.

Now that the January transfer window has re-opened, the Citizens faithful propping up the bar are calling for City’s hierarchy to bring further talent to the Etihad Stadium to ensure that their ambitions for the season are achieved.

Since the summer of 2017, City have been persistently linked with Arsenal’s contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international has done nothing to suggest that he wishes to extend his time at The Emirates Stadium, and the longer the speculation continues, the more likely it seems that Sanchez will leave North-London after almost 4 years at the club.

Considering the excellent quality and exemplary attitude Sanchez has demonstrated during his career in the English top-flight, it is no surprise to see the majority of City fans are calling for Guardiola to bring him to Manchester in January.

Whether City will manage to fend off competition for Sanchez’s signature and strike a deal in January or the summer remains to be seen, but rest assured, plenty of supporters from the blue and white half of Manchester would be delighted to see a potential deal come to fruition.

Here’s what some of the City supporters have to say about their club’s pursuit of Sanchez on Twitter…
