The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in Diario Ole, via The Mirror, that Jurgen Klopp has been looking at West Ham and Argentina star, Manuel Lanzini as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho. Lanzini looks set to travel to Russia with his country in the summer and was on the scoresheet on Friday as Argentina beat Italy 2-0 at the Etihad.
Liverpool fans will have been wondering what Klopp has in store for a Coutinho replacement. The little Brazilian left Liverpool in the summer for Barcelona, becoming one of the most the most expensive players in history in the process. Despite the large hole Coutinho was expected to leave in Liverpool’s midfield, the Anfield club has fared well since his departure as Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have filled the void.
The Liverpool fans propping our bar up will expect to see someone come in when the summer swings around, as the injury-prone Adam Lallana could also be making an Anfield exit. The ideal replacement could be a lot closer to home, and a lot cheaper, than a number of our resident Kopites think. Whilst a number of fans want to see the likes of Thomas Lemar or Nabil Fekir come to the club, West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini could end up on Merseyside. If West Ham suffer the drop this season it’s hard to see Lanzini staying in claret and blue, giving Klopp an ideal chance to swoop in for the midfielder.

Whoever Klopp fancies let him get them. Been right about nearly every player he’s bought in when people have been sceptical beforehand.

For £10m good to have at the bench Why not but we need someone great too like Fekir or Lemar for that position. Lanzini isn’t the best choice. He has ups and downs.

As a squad player yes, as a direct replacement for Coutinho, absolutely not.

£10 million. No brainer as long as he's not the main replacement he'd be a great one to add to squad.

Lanzini for 10 mil? That’s a steal.

For £10m yes, decent player. Look at the £10m ‘ish Jürgen spent on @andrewrobertso5. Turned a good player into a world beater
