‘No enquiries’ for Manchester United target as yet

shaw.jpgAs speculation builds about the future of Southampton left back Luke Shaw in the Football Transfer Tavern, his current club have come out to deny all recent suggestions

We reported that a £30 million deal to take the 18-year-old to Old Trafford was ‘virtually complete’ but according to Southampton chief executive Les Reed, there have no enquiries or offers for any Saints players.

The England international has been highlighted as the perfect replacement for French left back Patrice Evra with David Moyes laying the groundwork before his sacking earlier this week.

But despite this, Reed maintains that the Saints are not prepared to sell any of their star men in the summer.

He told MirrorFootball: “As we stand, there have been no enquiries or offers for any of our players. That is the truth.

“No club has been given permission to talk to any of our players. Reports that some of our players are negotiating transfers are misinformed.

“We want to improve the squad going forward and retain our current players.”

Do you think that United will be landing the future England star or will the Saints be able to hold onto their stars? Let us know your thoughts below.
