They are being linked with just about everyone here in the Football Transfer Tavern and now French free spenders Monaco have been linked with a move for Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez or so ESPN claim.
The club have just netted a host of top players including the highly coveted Radamel Falcao and also Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.
Add this to the fact that they are also after Angel Di Maria and Fabio Coentrao and it seems that a whole new side will be starting for the promoted mega rich team when the Ligue 1 season resumes next season.
Given Tevez’ frosty relationship with Manchester and its weather it would not really come as a shock if the forward felt that a move to the beautiful tax haven of Monaco could well be a good idea and the press seem to have caught onto this fact.
Monaco themselves however have moved to pour water on these claims and have noted that: “We’re not in talks. A lot of newspapers are talking about that, but that case has never been discussed.”
The club have also claimed that they will not make an immediate move for Victor Valdes who seems certain to be leaving the Camp Nou this summer. As one of our punters quips, it seems only a matter of time before a link to Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo materialises – but one thing is for sure – Monaco are the next big club and they are certainly looking to lure some top Premier League talent to the Stade Louis II.
