The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story from RMC that claims Spurs are one of three European clubs that are interested in Marseille winger, Florian Thauvin. Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Spurs could be set to compete in a bidding war for the winger who bagged 22 goals and 12 assists in Ligue 1 last season, despite playing on the right-wing.

Thauvin spent two years under contract at Newcastle from summer 2015 to summer 2017, although 18 months of that was spent back on loan with Marseille, as the Frenchman failed to impress in his first six months for the Magpies. His months in the Premier League were disastrous, and many English football fans have written the Marseille star off, believing that he’ll never have a career in England after his Newcastle horror show.
However, the 25-year-old is yet to hit the peak of his powers and has still managed to contribute to 34 goals, 22 goals and 12 assists, in his 35 appearances for Marseille in the league this season. Thauvin was also part of the Marseille squad that was beaten 3-0 in the Europa League final a few weeks ago, although just getting to a major European final is an incredible feat.

Wasn't he terrible for Newcastle?

I don't get it. What's wrong with Lucas moura? He's better than most of the players we have been linked with

Been good in ligue 1 for 2 seasons. Doesn’t translate to premier league though. Be difficult to judge, like look of Malcolm. Same argument though

That’s good because he definitely didn’t flop last time he was in the Prem
