Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern shed a tear yesterday when it was revealed that club legend John Terry will leave this summer, although they accept it’s the right decision for all parties.
The services of the 36-year-old central-defender will become available at the end of the current campaign and there’s been a major debate over by the pool tables as to where the former England skipper will end-up.
Many have also put their money where their mouth is, although quite a few of them are cursing their luck following comments from an ESPN source, who severed the chances of Terry moving to the MLS as he stated there’s ‘no interest’ in the veteran from North America.
Due to his high wages, MLS clubs would find it extremely difficult to get Terry into their ranks, even as a designated player, and the chances of the defender following in the footsteps of the likes of Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard look to be slim.
Fortunately, Terry should have offers from elsewhere and our landlord believes he will make a move to the Far East- either to move to China or Qatar.
Where should Terry move to this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
