No loan spell planned for Chelsea star in 2014/15

Romelu Lukaku The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern seem to be keen to hear the news from the Daily Express and agree with the publication’s latest reports.

The paper thinks that Romelu Lukaku will not be allowed out on loan next season.

The Belgian forward has of course spent the last two seasons at Everton and West Bromwich Albion respectively, and now will either be sold or be thrust into Jose Mourinho’s first team plans. A loan spell is not an option this time.

As our punters move from the bar, they note that finally making a decision over Lukaku’s future can only be a good thing for the young forward.

We are pretty convinced that should a decent offer come in for the Belgian international, Jose Mourinho will be happy to let him go.

Should that not be the case, Lukaku will have to fight for a spot in the starting line-up at Chelsea – an option he is not too keen on – and will face a fight from Diego Costa who will be coming in from Atletico Madrid.

Given Lukaku’s is still yet to register at the World Cup, we think Chelsea may have to sell for less than they intended if they want to get rid of the forward.

Chelsea fans. Should he stay and be given a proper chance to impress or is it all over at Stamford Bridge for Lukaku? Let us know your thoughts below.
