The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to run out of patience with Philippe Coutinho.
The resident Reds propping up the bar have fully backed Coutinho during his displays for Liverpool this season, despite his apparent desire to join FC Barcelona. But their patience has begun to wear thin in the last few days, to the point where they are calling for him to be dropped to the reserves.
So far this season, Coutinho has done well to ignore the speculation regarding his future in the media to produce some fine displays in Liverpool red.
Coutinho has scored 12 goals and produced 9 assists for his teammates in 20 appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side during the current campaign.
However, the re-opening of the January transfer window will hand Barcelona a fresh opportunity to make a bid for Coutinho’s services, and it looks as if the Brazilian may now have played his last game for the club.
The transfer saga has become something of a fiasco in recent days, after Nike began advertising Barcelona shirts with Coutinho’s name printed on the back, even though he officially remains a Liverpool player.
And after continuing to support their star player throughout the season, it appears that the Liverpool supporters have finally had enough with Coutinho and his links with Barcelona.
Here’s what the Liverpool supporters have had to say about Coutinho in recent days…
Coutinho would go down as the biggest snake in Liverpool. Suárez and Sterling left in the summer understandable at least and Torres left because our club was in a massive mess.

Even Suarez stayed for one whole season without any complaints, and gave his everything for us. He even cried as well after our draw with Crystal Palace. Just shows how he could put away his desire to leave and give his all to the club, while Coutinho is the exact opposite.

It will be a betrayal from Coutinho after we gave him a home when Milan threw him away

Let him go…. find a replacement and move on. He has taken so much energy from the club, players, fans and media that it’s time to say goodbye and find someone that WANTS to play for Liverpool

I obviously knew Coutinho would fake an injury for this transfer window it’s so inevitable. I really hope we don’t sell him until the summer for that even if it means leaving him in the reserves.
Plays his best ever form and tries to snake us for the second time. Disgraceful.

No point in keeping a player who don’t wanna play for us anymore. No one bigger than LFC lad sell now. N move on

It would never happen but if I had it my way I would let Coutinho rot in the reserves until his contract expiration. But hey, that’s just cynical old me.

Ask any Liverpool fan and I'd say all would much prefer #Coutinho to rot in the reserves for 6 months and lose £10m rather than sell now for whatever price. Can't be allowed to brat his way to a move. Go in the summer with everyone's best wishes.
