Not every young talent from Chelsea is plying his trade abroad though, as Marco Van Ginkel has signed himself to spend time seeing the wonderful Staffordshire sights with Stoke City.
The 22-year-old Dutchman has started all six of Stoke’s Premier League games at the time of writing, leading to suggestions that Stoke are under financial pressure to put the Chelsea man on the team-sheet.
The Stoke Sentinel has rubbished these claims though, with manager Mark Hughes having no knowledge of an alleged clause in the contract which means Chelsea must pay a fixed-sum every time the influential midfielder missed out in the team selection.
Hughes was quite upset by the suggestion that such a clause would impact his team selection, stating that any beliefs on the contrary are ‘completely wrong’.
Chelsea fans, how many of these youngsters will actually see game-time at Stamford Bridge?
