No summer Chelsea transfer for Dutchman

sneijder.jpgThe Sun have a fascinating story for Chelsea fans today in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that Wesley Sneijder will not be moving to Chelsea despite talk of a link up with Jose Mourinho once again.

Rumours had been rife that Mourinho would link up with one of his most loved players – with whom he won the treble with during his time at Inter Milan, yet despite his still evident love for the Special One, the Dutchman claimed that a move would not be happening – at least not this summer.

The midfielder noted that: “I have a special relationship with Jose Mourinho and enjoyed working with him, but I can’t leave Galatasaray in the lurch or the fans that I admire

“I want to play till January at least and help my team. I love Istanbul so much.

“I’ve met a new country and a new culture. It would not be easy to leave and turn my back (on Galatasaray).

“My club have expectations of me. The board worked so hard for my transfer.

“I can’t go anywhere because I owe them.”

The 29-year-old, next to Didier Drogba, was of course one of the players who performed admirably under Mourinho’s leadership and Chelsea fans would have welcomed the player with open arms.

Do Chelsea already possess too many attacking options anyway? Will Sneijder ever become a Premier League player? Let us know your thoughts below.
