North London duo join Manchester United in chase for Barca star

Dani AlvesDani Alves is a wanted man and our regulars in the Football Transfer Tavern cannot blame the three Premier League clubs who are looking to woo him.

According to The Sunday Times, Manchester United have now been joined by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the right back, who will be a free agent in the summer when his current deal with La Liga side Barcelona expires.

Alves has made it clear that he wants to leave the Camp Nou once his deal is up and we had thought that he would be leaving in the summer just gone yet the Brazilian was persuaded to stay.

Our punters note over a game of pool and a couple of pints that they think Alves would be ideal for the Premier League and that every top player should experience at least a couple of seasons in England’s top flight – and given Alves has won everything there is to win at the Camp Nou, it might be nice to try life in a different league.

However if he wants to add a Premier League title to his belt, he might want to try Chelsea or Manchester City!

United fans. Can you land Alves despite all the interest in him? Is a January move a good idea? Let us know your thoughts below.
