One of the Football Transfer Tavern’s favourite strikers Gary Hooper is set to leave Celtic according to Neil Lennon with Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers already declaring an interest, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Hooper is going into the final year of his contract with the SPL champions and has already made it clear that he won’t be signing a new deal at Celtic Park.
Celtic can either sell their main man for a large profit this summer or risk losing him for free this time next year.
The Canaries have already spent big this summer and had two bids rejected for the former Scunthorpe United striker back in January, but it appears they are closer to getting their man now.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp has made trimming the wage bill his main concern this summer but the chance to bring a proven Championship striker to West London appears to be too hard to turn down.
Celtic will only sell if their asking price in excess of £7 million is met with West Ham United, Southampton and Cardiff City also set to step up their interest.
