Norwich City are looking to sign young Bolton Wanderers midfielder Dennis Politic on a free transfer this summer, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
Bolton are in the midst of a financial crisis and have had to cancel two pre-season friendlies with players refusing to play after not being paid for 20 weeks.
The situation will only get worse at the start of next season, with the club set to begin League One with a 12-point deduction after entering administration in May.
With the crisis Bolton are finding themselves in, a move for young Politic on a potential free transfer could be a brilliant piece of business by the club. The Premier League newcomers are said to be revamping the under-23 squad ahead of next season, and Politic could be the perfect signing.
Politic spent last season on loan at Conference side Salford City, where he helped the side achieve promotion to League Two. The 19-year-old scored three times in 11 appearances for Salford last season, however, got injured and missed out on the club’s promotion victory at Wembley.
Politic is originally from Romania and has appeared three times for his country’s under-17 squad. The youngster is yet to make his Bolton debut and could be set to move on before doing so.
A move to Norwich could be just what the doctor ordered for Farke. Politic enjoyed a fine season with Salford City last campaign, and on a free transfer would prove far too good value to turn down due to the little risk attached to the move.
