Norwich City fans showed their undying faith in Todd Cantwell after the player tweeted following their 2-0 loss away to Burnley.
Cantwell took to Twitter to apologise to the Norwich fans, who immediately backed their forward, with many telling him he had no reason to apologise for the defeat.
Daniel Farke’s side went down 2-0 to Sean Dyche’s side after a brace from striker Chris Wood in the space of four first-half minutes (via BBC).
The England youth international was one of the better performers in a disappointing defeat, as he completed the joint-second most dribbles and had the joint-third most shots of any Norwich player (via WhoScored).
The £6.3m-rated (per Transfermarkt) Cantwell has enjoyed a stunning start to life in the English top-flight as he’s scored two goals and provided two assists in his first six top-flight games (via Transfermarkt).
Despite the defeat, the Canaries faithful showed their support for Cantwell as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Carrow Road faithful:
Sometimes things don’t always click and Burnley are a direct, in your face team that work really hard off the ball. Losing away is disappointing but they’re a good side. We still love all the team and go again next week #OTBC
