Norwich consider another move for prolific Championship forward to boost promotion hopes

There’s been little to shout about for the Norwich City fans who frequent the Transfer Tavern this season as they watched their side meekly return to the Championship.

However, according to ClubCall, the Canaries may opt to try and keep on loan Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford for next season.

The 22-year-old made only seven appearances for the Canaries since joining in January on six month loan, but failed to help the club from dropping into the second tier.

Still, there’s reasons to be cheerful as during the 2014/15 season, Bamford found the net 17 times in 39 appearances for Middlesbrough and a similar return of form would boost promotion hopes in East Anglia.

Goals proved hard to come by all around for manager Alex Neil and the lack of firepower was perhaps the main reason he was unable to keep them up.

Since moving to West London in 2012, the England-u21 international has spent time at Milton Keynes Dons, Derby County, Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace.

While he’s yet to make his mark anywhere permanently, the Grantham born striker has proved prolific in the Championship when given a frequent starting berth.

Can Bamford find his form once again the Championship?
