‘Not as good as Lampard’, ‘He’ll come good’ – Tottenham fans discuss poor performances of first team mainstay

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are busy nursing their wounds after yet another loss over the weekend. It’s been a tough couple of months for the Lilywhites in the Premier League, with their consistency finally hitting a blip under Mauricio Pochettino.

Collectively, as a team, they’ve struggled, but a few players in particular have looked poor individually too. One such player is Dele Alli, who has failed to hit the heights of last term this year. Struggling to control the game through the midfield as he so often has before, the 21-year-old is in a bit of a rut.

One thing that most fans can agree on is that he’s simply out of form, yet the root cause of that appears to be very much up for debate, at least amongst the Tottenham fans over on the Spurs fan Reddit page.

Fans have spent the last few hours discussing Dele Alli’s drop in form, and it’s fair to say that there are some mixed responses. Some simply don’t think he’s as good as everyone thinks he is, with one remarking that he is simply ‘not as good as Lampard’ despite the inevitable comparisons, whilst others think that he will come good eventually.

Whatever the case, it’s clear that Spurs fans are keen to see him return to his best. Their thoughts on the topic are certainly interesting, though, so as viewed over on the Spurs fan Reddit page, take a look at a few responses below…
