The resident Gunners were feeling like they missed an opportunity in the Transfer Tavern last night, after their side laboured to a 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The prospect of watching Arsenal and Chelsea lock horns is always a tantalising one, but reality did not live up to expectation last night as the two sides played out a dull 0-0 draw in West London. Arsenal had the opportunity to make up for their shock defeat in FA Cup third round last weekend, but they failed to do so on an evening when Chelsea looked far from their imperious best.
Arsenal failed to take advantage of Chelsea’s flat performance or produce any moments of true quality throughout proceedings, much to the disappointment of the Arsenal fans propping up our bar in the tavern.
Despite the fact he made the headlines for attending a party the night before Arsenal’s defeat against Nottingham Forest last weekend, Alex Iwobi was selected to start last night in an attacking midfield role behind Alexandre Lacazette last night.
In truth, Iwobi looked short of confidence and he struggled to make a positive impact on the game, although the same could be said for most of Arsenal’s side.
Iwobi has hardly cut a popular figure at the club this week due to his weekend antics, and the supporters certainly did not hold back their criticism of the Arsenal academy product on Twitter last night.
Here’s what the Arsenal fans had to say about his performance…
RT if you have a better shot than Iwobi

Referee just used VAR to ask if Iwobi is actually a footballer.

Iwobi is absolute trash. Probably one of the worst players I've seen in an Arsenal shirt
