‘Not good enough’, ‘Does nothing’ – Liverpool fans slam 27-year-old after England display

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were watching England’s game with Slovenia on Thursday evening with a keen eye…

Several Liverpool players were on show for the Three Lions, with Gareth Southgate’s side in with a chance of securing their place at the 2018 Russian World Cup.

The likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson were involved from the start, and that led to a lot of intrigue in the Transfer Tavern.

Unfortunately, though, despite England’s win, the game was far from a clinic. To the contrary, Southgate’s men played very poorly, and unfortunately for Liverpool – none of their players shrouded themselves in glory.

Jordan Henderson, though a solid player for the Reds this term, put in an uncharacteristic performance, and whilst he was far from the worst player on the pitch, he wasn’t at his best.

Unsurprisingly, given how often he is made a scapegoat, this drew a lot of criticism in the Transfer Tavern, but it appears as though even Liverpool’s own fans are turning on their captain.

Touting his performance as poor, whilst also questioning the quality that he provides in general, the Liverpool fans on Twitter aren’t very happy.

Take a look at what they’ve said below…
