The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Jose Mourinho has no plans to replace his departing assistant manager, Rui Faria. After the FA Cup final, Faria is set to depart Mourinho despite having worked as his right-hand man for 17 years since his early days in Portugal. The boss has provided an update on the future of his backroom team… #MUFC
— Manchester United (@ManUtd) May 14, 2018
Jose Mourinho announced before the Watford game that Rui Faria would be leaving Old Trafford and splitting with Mourinho at the end of the season after the FA Cup final. However, as Michael Carrick’s already agreed to a role on the United coaching staff when he hangs his boots up after this Saturday, it could be a matter of time before the 36-year-old is occupying the seat next to Mourinho in the Old Trafford dugout.
The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid gaffer claimed that he would be switching up his coaching staff and trying to get by without a number two, instead focusing on having coaches playing different roles and being connected via analysts. The fans will be optimistic that when their ex-England international Michael Carrick has got his coaching badges and is ready that he will be the one taking up the number two job for Mourinho, whether that’s at United or elsewhere.

We're in the middle of a 4 year rebuilding process, as outlined at the start of Jose succession & everyone is complaining it's not amazing 2 years in, shock horror! The fact we are still picking up more trophies than every1 else while rebuilding is a credit to what Jose is doing.

@ManUtd keeping Jose Mourinho is a signal that they are ready to go without the league title next season. I can’t see Jose winning the league ever again with this kind of football. Maybe if city sack pep he will hav a chance. Until then NO WAY
