‘Not worth 80 million’ – Most Liverpool fans have been slating big name transfer target

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been taking a pop at one of their high-profile transfer targets, Alisson Becker. The Brazilian goalkeeper has been on the Reds’ radar all summer, although the fans have been slating him, claiming his ability doesn’t justify his price tag. According to quotes made to reporters (via Football.London), Roma are yet to receive an offer for the shot-stopper.

It’s no secret that the Liverpool fans propping our bar up have been begging their club to sign a reputable goalkeeper this summer, as none of them wants to see either Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius given a starting role ahead of the new season. Most fans had been calling for either Jan Oblak or Alisson, although now it seems the fans are willing to turn their noses up at Alisson and look for better options elsewhere.

This has been a strange one for the Reds. At one point they were urging their Brazilian international, Roberto Firmino to try and convince Alisson to join him at Anfield, however, they’re now seemingly not interested in the Roma ‘keeper. This whole saga shows how fickle the Liverpool fans can be and how difficult Jurgen Klopp’s job must be when his fan base wouldn’t be happy with Brazil’s number one and one of the highest-rated goalkeeper’s in the world.

It’s obvious from the fans reaction that they’d rather go for a goalkeeper a little closer to home as they continue to berate Alisson.
