The Nottingham Forest supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are hopeful that the club can climb the Championship table next season after narrowly staying in the division during 2016/17 with a win on the final day of the campaign.
In Mark Warburton the Reds do have a manager who knows the second tier extremely well and the consensus among supporters is that with a few additions they can be a lot more competitive next season.
The Reds’ boss will look to stamp his own authority on the squad and at least four recruits should arrive at the City Ground during the summer months to aid Forest’s quest up the Championship table next term.
The Forest supporters in the Tavern are desperate to see their side bolstered in the summer and one man who could do a job for the team is Newcastle United striker Adam Armstrong, who looks set to leave the club either on loan or permanently in the coming months.
Armstrong spent last season on loan with Forest’s Championship rivals Barnsley and his potential is there for all to see, making him an attractive proposition for the Reds.
Britt Assombalonga carries the goal burden for Forest right now and it would be extremely healthy for the club to have another poacher within their ranks as competition for the prolific talisman, with Armstrong likely to fit such a billing.
One Forest fan is having a cigarette here in the Tavern’s beer garden and he believes that Armstrong would be a solid signing for the club, stating that the Reds should do all they can to secure the youngster.
Nottingham Forest fans, would you welcome Armstrong to the City Ground? Let us know in the comments below!!!
