Nottingham Forest could only manage a goalless draw against Swansea City yesterday, despite enjoying the better share of possession.
The Championship club would have had their sights on securing promotion to the Premier League after a busy summer, but things just haven’t turned out that way. Although, it appears as if Aitor Karanka is eyeing a potential addition, as according to The Sun on Sunday (16/09, page 63) (via HITC), Nottingham Forest want Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon.
Nottingham Forest are reportedly already eyeing a loan swoop for Jason Puncheon in January.
It’s claimed that summer switches to Aston Villa and Middlesbrough collapsed in the last moments of the window and the 32-year-old is set to be allowed to leave when January arrives.
Jason Puncheon is yet to play in the Premier League this term but can provide a wealth of experience at the City Ground, with a rather young squad at Karanka’s disposal.
Nottingham Forest haven’t managed to ensure any consistency so far this season, despite investing heavily during the summer transfer window.
And, it now appears as if they’re looking to add experience to their ranks in the hope that Jason Puncheon can help them secure promotion to the Premier League.
The 32-year-old still has a lot to offer and could be a real asset in the Championship, so Forest should do everything they possibly can to secure his services.
