Nottingham Forest would be wise to move for recently released striker

The Nottingham Forest fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern were not best pleased with their team during the 2016/17 campaign, although they were mightily relieved that the team managed to secure enough points to stay in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Reds supporters spent many a night here in the Tavern drowning their sorrows after several disappointing results over the course of the season.

New boss Mark Warburton improved the club’s fortunes a little bit after arriving in March and the Forest fans here in the bar are hopeful that next season can be a completely different kind of campaign.

New recruits will naturally be on the agenda and one man who could be a good addition to the Forest squad is recently released Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe.

The 29-year-old was part of an extremely poor Black Cats squad last season and although he only scored three goals his all round play could be a real asset in the second tier.

The former Everton man was set for a really bright career in English football after bursting onto the scene as a youngster at Goodison Park but his career didn’t quite turn out according to plan.

The powerful striker could form a formidable partnership with Britt Assombalonga next season and it is certainly a deal that the Forest manager should be looking to pull off.

One Forest fan is sat chilling here in the Tavern and he believes that Anichebe would be a shrewd signing for the Reds, stating that his arrival could tempt other players into signing for the club this summer.

Nottingham Forest fans, would you welcome Anichebe to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
