The Leicester City fans are continuing their celebrations in The Transfer Tavern this evening and discussing comments made by a former Nottingham Forest player.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Viv Anderson believes that Brian Clough’s title winning exploits with Nottingham Forest is a bigger achievement than Leicester winning this season’s Premier League title.
Leicester were crowned champions of England on Monday night following Tottenham’s failure to win at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking about Leicester, Anderson said: ‘I am biased, but I would say Forest winning the title is better.
‘It was all new to us, we were used to playing Second Division players, and then went up to the First Division, and played against sides we had only seen on television.
‘For Leicester to have come along and done what they’ve done is an absolute breath of fresh air. It is amazing with all the money involved, easily the most fantastic achievement of the Premier League era.’
The Leicester fans in The Tavern are not overly bothered by Anderson’s comments and in their own opinion them winning the league is bigger, due to the amount of money other clubs spent this season.
Our landlord has to agree with the Foxes faithful here in the Transfer Tavern, and says that Leicester’s achievement is simply unbelievable, and has hailed it the craziest sporting moment of all-time!
