AVB’s revolution of Spurs hasn’t started brilliantly. A loss away to Newcastle can be forgiven and to an extent the draw against WBA can be down to a wonderful performance by the WBA team, especially Lukaku who had something to prove to the Portuguese manager, but things need to improve or Daniel Levy will be left with egg on his face after appointing a man disgraced by Chelsea.
At least Modric has moved on and they have more than one striker up front. Adebayor has finally joined Spurs on a permanent basis and it will be very interesting to see if he keeps up his excellent performances considering his lazy reputation.
With all this extra money though AVB can fully look to add quality and depth to his squad. He also seems to be adding youth to that mixture too.
According to sportsmole.co.uk, Jack Butland has been placed firmly at the top of the transfer target list for Spurs along with Willian, Hugo Lloris, Moussa Dembele and Leandro Damaio. The young keeper made some excellent saves during his time playing for Team GB at the Olympics and has attracted as much interest as Katy Perry recently did in her see through dress.
According to various reports across the internet a fee has been agreed with Lyon for Lloris and so AVB will look at Butland as an understudy to the French number one. Butland needs playing time, as Hart showed after a loan spell at Birmingham turned him into the keeper he is today and Butland won’t be able to get that at Spurs so a loan deal going back to the second city would be beneficial for the player and with Freidel as backup for at least one more season, the club will benefit too.
AVB seems to be looking to the youth of Tottenham already by promoting Harry Kane to the main squad after he scored 8 goals whilst on loan at Millwall last season whilst also seeming to give Steve Caulker a more advanced role after he impressed at Swansea last season whilst also on loan.
The price for the brummy keeper is reported at around £8million but considering that they could get a potential 20 years of service out of him that amounts to £400,000 a season for a keeper being dubbed as a future England number one. I’m not a banker, as I have a soul, but that seems to be a pretty good deal.
If AVB manages to use his low sensual voice to entice all the stars he’s after into coming to White Hart Lane then Spurs will have a team that will take some beating this season as well as a foundation to base the future on with yong exciting players popping up all over the team. Of course we all know what Spurs are like with transfers and I’m sure Daniel Levy will have many things to say in regards to the figures involved with bringing these guys in.
It’s been an indifferent start for AVB this season but if you want to make an omelette then you have to break some eggs.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
