According to The Sun, Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has said that Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane is ready to move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
However, the 150 cap international conceded that it would be very hard to prise the England captain away from his beloved Tottenham.
The Spanish giants are struggling at the moment after the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane, as they seem to lack the star men up front with Gareth Bale so injury prone. This would be the perfect time for Kane (valued at £135m on Transfermarkt.co.uk) to move to the Spanish capital, and become their key man in front of goal. The club are crying out for a man of Kane’s ability, and he would not be in anyone’s shadow should he join.
However, Matthaus said that this deal must happen now, as Kane would be too old in a couple of years. Not only this, but Madrid would probably have recruited another star by then, with the likes of Eden Hazard springing to mind. By then, Kane would not be the man who created the new Madrid post-Ronaldo.
This can be seen as good or bad news for Tottenham. On the one hand, they definitely do not want to see their star man leave, as many know that he would be impossible to replace.
On the other hand, the club only need to hold out for a little longer before Los Blancos’ interest in the the striker diminishes.
Despite these rumours and interest, many people can still see Kane staying in north London for the rest of his career.
