Nuno looking to strengthen three areas in the January transfer window

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a great start to their Premier League campaign this season, however, it appears they will still look to improve their squad during the January transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have recorded a number of impressive results already, picking up points against the likes of West Ham United, Burnley and Manchester City.

However, the Portuguese manager is keen to add further to his impressive squad this winter, with the Birmingham Mail claiming he is set to target up to three new additions.

It is believed that a striker is considered to be the Molineux outfit’s main priority in January, as his team have struggled to finish some brilliant opportunities during matches to ensure they take points.

Nuno is also believed to be targeting a right-back to competed with Matt Doherty, who has been excelling in the side and had made the position his own, whilst it is understood another playmaker is believed to be another area he wants to add depth to.

The Verdict:

Wolves certainly managed to surprise many with their business in the summer and look to have got those transfers right, so it will be interesting to see who they manage to add in the winter.

Nuno would be right to target a new striker as, although Raul Jiminez has not disappointed since arriving, however, added competition could benefit the Mexican greatly and help him find the back of the net more regularly.

Giving Doherty some competition at the back should help to further improve his own game, whilst adding another playmaker to the team in an area that already contains the likes of Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves could only make them a more attacking threat from the midfield.
