Obiang and Masuaku must have a huge game against Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham United haven’t been able to enjoy the start that many supporters hoped for, with just seven points to their name so far this season.

The Hammers failed to head into the international break in a positive manner as they were beaten 1-0 at the Amex Stadium against Brighton and Hove Albion.

However, West Ham United will welcome Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur to the London Stadium in their next Premier League encounter.

Indeed, this will be a key game for a couple of the club’s first team members, with a disappointing showing possibly causing for them to be axed and frozen out of the side.

With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO players that could face axing if they don’t put in a huge performance…

Arthur Masuaku

Arthur Masuaku established himself as one of the defenders to watch last season in the Premier League, but he just hasn’t been able to ensure consistency in the current campaign.

Indeed, the left-back put in a disappointing display against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out, which means that today’s game against Spurs has added pressure on his shoulders as he could lose his place in the side to Aaron Creswell, who is waiting in the wings patiently.

Pedro Obiang

Pedro Obiang has had to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench at times in the current campaign, but he has enjoyed regular minutes in the side recently due to a number of injuries.

Indeed, the midfielder desperately needs to be performing at his best while the opportunity is there to enjoy regular minutes, as the likes of Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez could easily push him out of the side once they return.
