Oliver Skipp has got a lot of Tottenham fans excited for the future

Tottenham fans are starting to get a little bit irritable in the transfer market and it’s clear to see why. Only two Premier League clubs are yet to sign a player yet and Burnley are the unlucky bunch sharing that title alongside Spurs. However, if young Oliver Skipp can keep performing like he did last night then the fans won’t be so desperate for a new man.

In the early hours of this morning Tottenham put Champions League semi-finalists, Roma to the sword in San Diego, with Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura both at the double as The Lillywhites romped to a 4-1 over the Serie A side. Whilst it was nice to see some of the club’s fringe players get some much-needed game time, the fans have been raving about 17-year-old Oliver Skipp who came on for a second-half cameo.

The tidy young midfielder came off the bench with just under half an hour to play and was up against some of Roma’s better midfield options. The Italian outfit had opted to bring on both Kevin Strootman and Danielle De Rossi yet Skipp stood up to the task and did well to nullify Roma’s midfield pair. At such a young age Skipp showed maturity and aggression and the fans can’t wait until he’s a fully fledged member of the senior squad.

As you can see, the fans look delighted to have seen Skipp performing for their club and will keen to see him get minutes this season
