The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern had high hopes for him once upon a time…
When Lucas Piazon was signed by Chelsea as a youngster in 2012, it appeared as though he had the world at his feet.
His arrival certainly lived up to the hype, winning a Young Player of the Year Award and looking generally impressive during his short tenure with the Chelsea youth teams – and things were really looking up.
However, since that point, it has all been rather negative for Piazon from a Chelsea perspective. He has become just another face in the Blues’ ever growing loan army, and it doesn’t appear as though a role at Chelsea will be coming anytime soon.
Now, it looks like – if Piazon gets his way – the Brazilian won’t be returning to Stamford Bridge at all.
According to GetWestLondon, “It’s hard to talk about the future…But if I had the chance, and if all goes well – you never know. Football is crazy”.
“I think I feel comfortable here at Fulham” he added.
Whilst Piazon isn’t necessarily ruling a move back to Chelsea out, he certainly appears to be loving life at Fulham. Typically, players will talk up a Chelsea return and reveal their dream of making it at Stamford Bridge – but it would appear as though Piazon has no such dream.
Our landlord thinks that a Fulham stay would be best for Piazon. He is getting regular game time, and in truth – a role in the Chelsea first team looks unlikely.
