The Daily Mail are certainly not disappointing today in the Football Transfer Tavern and our landlord notes that Arjen Robben is providing all of the gossip for them.
New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is making no secret of the fact that he intends to move quickly this summer in order to land the players he feels the club need – and the latest of those seems to be Dutch compatriot Arjen Robben.
The Netherlands international winger knows the Premier League well and of course spent time at Chelsea before a move to Real Madrid and then Bayern Munich, where he plays currently.
However, despite the Bavarian giants being one of the best clubs in the world, van Gaal is confident he can lure the winger away – and he will certainly have the chance to do so this summer given he will be working with the player in very close quarters at the World Cup!
Not only does van Gaal covet Robben, but star forward Robin van Persie is also keen to link up with the winger on a domestic basis.
RVP has spoken to the media about such a possibility – and the notoriously difficult forward had nothing but nice things to say about Robben.
United are also reportedly edging closer to a deal for Toni Kroos, with an offer on the table and it seems their summer rebuild is in full swing – and the name Marouane Fellaini is nowhere in sight!
Do you think United can actually convince Robben to return to the Premier League? Let us know your thoughts below.
