One out and one in at Tottenham?

Christian Eriksen (Ajax)They may be having a hard time holding onto Gareth Bale, but there is better news emerging from Metro for Tottenham fans to digest here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

The publication claim that Ajax’s star midfielder Christian Eriksen could well make a move to White Hart Lane this summer.

Regarding the Bale saga, when asked about his future with the North London club, the Welsh international may have declined to reply, commenting that now was not the time to talk, yet the claims in the Spanish capital are not good for the forward.

Certain members of Florentino Perez’ backroom staff are making comments about the fee asked for Bale, and the fact that the money could be better utilised by keeping Cristiano Ronaldo at the club for the rest of his career.

Still, a move to Los Blancos is what Bale desires, and Andre Villas Boas is growing increasingly uneasy over that desire.

There is however good news for Spurs however after Christian Eriksen offered complimentary words about the club and was more than open to a move to North London. The Danish international noted: “Tottenham are a great club.

“I know from Vertonghen that it is a good club which is interesting, but there has not been any contact.

“I do not know if I am going to leave Ajax. We’ll find out in two weeks.

“There are to my knowledge no negotiations right now either with a new club or Ajax.

“If there is a good approach (from another club), I see as an opportunity to try something new, but if nothing comes, I do not mind staying.”

The player has also drawn admiring glances from Brendan Rodgers, yet the Liverpool manager is more focused on keeping Luis Suarez at the club at present.
