Liverpool fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping this transfer window will not see another prolonged Thomas Ince saga, something that seems unlikely after sources at the Blackpool Gazette revealed how Blackpool would only consider selling their star asset if a ‘ridiculous offer’ came in.
A number of clubs have been linked with the 21-year-old, including Liverpool, Reading and Crystal Palace, although manager Paul Ince has admitted he is not willing to sell his son unless it is for a hefty fee.
Ince junior still has a year to run on his contract, and his father and manager is hopeful that will be enough to fend off any interest from the top clubs.
“We knew there would be a lot of interest in Thomas and that’s proving to be the case,” Ince senior explained.
“But speaking to him, he will be happy to come and play here again. I’m not saying he doesn’t want to go and play in the Premier League because I know one day he will.
“If we can keep him for the next 12 months, then it will save us from looking elsewhere. We’d like to keep him but if someone makes a ridiculous offer we’ll have to look at it. Fingers crossed he’ll be here again next year.”
Liverpool attempted to resign the player they sold to Blackpool in 2011 last January, but failed to meet the clubs valuation and the move never materialised.
