Blues fans here in the Tavern are shocked with their sides weekend performance, after gifting the Hammers a first win under new management.
After going 7 games unbeaten, Chelsea let their guard down against a West Ham side that hadn’t won in the league since late September, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat that handed David Moyes his first win in his tenure.
A captain is a role model, a player who others look up to, someone who shows leadership qualities both on and off the pitch, and is the focal point of the side. But many criticisms were found in Saturday’s action, with captain Gary Cahill in the firing line after almost costing Chelsea a second goal, as his sloppy pass started a Hammers counter-attack, in what was a poor example set by the defender.
However, many Chelsea fans are beginning to disregard Cahill as the Blues captain, after the club’s Twitter account took to posting a motivational speech that vice-captain Cesar Azpilicueta gave after the weekend’s loss.
