During the summer, West Ham had a very productive transfer window after bringing in a host of quality players.

The likes of Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Issa Diop were all signed for big money and have managed to make a positive impact since arriving at the London Stadium.

The upcoming transfer window and the following one next summer, however, could be completely different -- and not in a good way.

The futures of both Marko Arnautovic and Declan Rice look far from certain (via Sky Sports) and, given how the pair have played this season, it is hard not to imagine other Premier League clubs targeting the pair in the near future.

West Ham, however, would be crazy to sell either of the two, though they may have no choice but to with the latter considering his contract is up next June.

Nevertheless, doing such would come as a huge disappointment for the Hammers who look to be heading in a good direction under Manuel Pellegrini.

Due to their poor start to the season, West Ham are not in the best of league positions considering the club's ambitions. But there have been plenty of signs to suggest Pellegrini has his team on the right path, especially with the additions of Anderson and Yarmolenko.

After making massive progress in terms of building a strong team, selling Arnautovic and Rice would be such a huge setback for West Ham. For Pellegrini, David Gold and David Sullivan, 2019 is already looking like a mammoth year.
