The future of Aaron Ramsey has been a focal point of discussion for Arsenal supporters this season, but a conclusion to the relentless saga is now in sight.

It's a tentative subject which has evoked feelings of frustration from supporters and pundits alike in recent weeks. What makes Ramsey's contract situation all the more pertinent for those Arsenal supporters, who are frustrated with decisions made by the hierarchy, is that the club have already been forced to offload Alexis Sanchez this year due to his contract situation.

Loosing a star player is one thing but loosing a star player to a fierce Premier League rival is significant in both footballing and metaphorical terms.

Add in the fact that Arsenal sold Alex Oxalde-Chamberlain to Liverpool last summer and it's easy to sympathise with the opinion that the club have failed to learn from their mistakes with Ramsey, but a recent report concerning the Wales international suggested that some positive news is looming on the horizon.

Indeed, according to the Independent, Bayern Munich believe they have won the race to sign Ramsey following a recent breakthrough in talks, with the player set to agree terms on a deal with the Bundesliga giants from the start of the 2019/20 season.

Naturally, the vast majority of Arsenal supporters would love to see Ramsey remain at the Emirates Stadium, but it has been common knowledge that he will depart the club for quite some time.

Unai Emery's worst fear regarding Ramsey's future would be to watch him depart the club and join a Premier League rival for absolutely nothing, so he will be breathing a huge sigh of relief after the latest report revealed that he is set to embark on a new challenge away from the Premier League.

The thought of Ramsey lining up against the Gunners is one which would fill Emery and the supporters with dread, but he cannot prove to be their nemesis in the Bundesliga, unless they go head-to-head in the Champions League of course.

But regardless of European permutations there is no doubt that this is incredibly good news for Arsenal, and it should lift potentially disruptive speculation from emerging as the season develops.
