Wolves will be pleased they were able to take a point away from their first Premier League fixture of the season having gone behind twice against Everton last Saturday.
New signing Raul Jimenez made sure the points were shared at Molineux after his header in the 80th minute made it 2-2 to give Nuno Espirito Santo’s men their first point of the new season, and the Mexican believes Wolves will see much better results in the coming weeks.
Speaking to the Express and Star, Jimenez said: “It is amazing to score here in the Premier League. Bravo the team, bravo the people and I think we will keep working and looking forward to better results in the league.”
And with the team Wolves have and the signings that were made in the summer, Jimenez is right to raise the bar at Molineux.
As well as £13.5m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Jimenez, the West Midlands club have also brought in players such as Portugal No1. Rui Patricio and his experienced compatriot Joao Moutinho to line up alongside the likes of Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota.
Ultimately, Nuno has a squad with enough quality to avoid relegation and possibly even finish in the top half of the table.
The Portuguese coach, though, may not be able to play the style of football he wants to week in, week out.
But the conditions are there for Wolves to have a successful season and, after a promising transfer window, like Jimenez supporters will be expecting to see good results in Wolves’ upcoming fixtures.
